Radio Problem

Can anyone help me sort this minor yet annoying problem I have. Just bought a 97 GTV and the radio wont work. I have the code for it, but instead of seeing "code in" on the screen all I have is "----". However when I press a button to try to enter the code nothing happens. How do I get it to say "code"? As much as I love the sound of the engine a bit of music every once in a while would be perfect!

just new to notice board, not sure if you have sorted, I have 156 and to overcome"----" problem. turn radio on and turn ignition key to"MAR", leave in this condition for 1hr then "CODE" will appear. Hope this will help. I have lost my code, you dont know how i can get it do you?

go to alfa with your reg doc and for a fee they will get your code for you
