Help deciding please....7 seater plus

Hi,

I currently have a budget of £5000 to buy a seven (or more) seater car.

My current list in order of preferance is...

1.6 Zafira - but been told they drink petrol at an alarming rate.
Diesal Zafira - A decent one may be beyond my budget.
Peugeot 806 - Not too sure on the reliability of these.
Nissan Serena - High insurance for a 1.6 and a bit smaller than a Zafira.
Sharan/Galaxy/(and the other one thats similar) - Been told these three are basically the same car but they haven't impressed me.

I'm only a year into my license so need to keep engine size down to help insurance costs.

I really need something that will last as this purchase will have to do me for at least 5-10 years so reliability and good history of no problems for the model is a must.

If anyone can give me some tips on models I may not have considered or on my points against the above cars then please let me know, cheers.

For me i would go for the diesle 2.0 DTI Zaphira my wife just bought one on a 51 plate for £4500 from an auction it has high milage 104,000 but it runs perfect and has been well cared for by the previous owner. And lets be fair 100,000 miles is nothing on a 2ltr diesle in this body size. Im well impressed with it. apart from tired battery and the lack of a code for the cd player she has had a Galaxy and 2 Scenics but this is the best so far goes like the wind good on fuel and handles really well. Scenics were ok but only 5 seaters
