View Full Version : Volvo V70 Diesel 1999 Electrical query
Hi All
Battery drain of 0.25 amp when car locked. Car wont start if left for more
than 3 days
Volvo said that current use should only be 0.025 amp at most
Removed fuse 18 drain dropped to 0.02
What does fuse 18 actually do?
Hand book says not used
Fuse box lid says key reminder What does this refer to?
Any help appreciated

The information I can find says:
"18 - Key reminder, Central locking - 10A"
Does it make a difference if you lock it with the key, or via the key-fob?
On my dad's V70, if you lock it with the key it doesn't arm the
alarm/ultrasonics. If you find that locking it with the key doesn't cause
the current drain then the alarm's probably the cause of the problem.

Sounds like a locking motor's not finishing it's travel.

How long did you leave the vehicle before measuring the current drain?
Many new vehicles do not go into sleep mode for several minutes after
removing the keys.
