Ignition Problem - Peugeot 306 Dt

hi all

im havin problems with my peugeot 306 DT. Sometimes when i go to start the car it starts fine no problems and im a happy chappy!! Other times prob once every day or two i put the key in the ignition and go to start it and just get a clicking noise. if i keep trying about 10 or so times sometimes more it will eventually start. if i then turn the engine off once ive started it and restart it always fires up straight away. Anyone have any ideas. thanks

normally i would say take a hammer to it and bash it a couple of times
you can try this is short run but in long run think about replacing it :)

dodgy starter soleniod, it may keep going this way for a bit. but its going to pack up for good soon. get it changed.

Had this happen to me twice on two different cars on both occasions it was the starter motor solenoid so can only agree with previous replies
