Hello everyone!

I have a problem with my Golf, which i hope someone can help me with on here. (most other car forums are useless!!)

Here's the thing, when ever i wash my car, i always get an accumulation of water in the driver's side foot weel. As you can imagine this is a pain in the a*$*! I first thought it may be because the drainage holes in the sunroof were blocked, but i checked these with a compressed air line and they are fine.
I am completely puzzled as to where the water is coming from, and i'm pleading for any advise if anyone knows what it may be or have had the same problem on their Golf.

Cheers guys!
Pete

I had a similar problem on my old car. It turned out to be a pin hole sized hole in the windscreen surround. This allowed water to seep in, trickle down the a-pillar behind the interior trim and appear as a puddle of water in the footwell. My recommendation is therefore to check your windscreen surround very carefully, using a magnifying glass if you have to.

Incidentally, I fixed the problem by applying some clear bathroom sealant to the offending area, and the problem never re-appeared!

Hope this helps,

Mark

hi i had a mk 2 golf aswell and had the same problem it turned out the driver door window seal had a gap which let a lot of water in the back of the door u should take off your door card and see if its got a sheet of polathene if not glue a sheet on around the metal of the door so no water cant get through and put another bit on your door card that should sort your porblem it worked for me
