Who Can I Report this Scam to I'm in US??

I don't know if this Scam thing is a crime but if I can get these fools aprehended that would be nice. I need to know who to report this to, have the guy giving me the check meet me somewhere and possible have him arrested. But I need to know if this is all legit and I can do it. The scam guy still thinks I'm going to go on with the transaction.
