Have same problem. 1994 Micra. Worst when climbing any gradient of hill or stopped at junctions. Works great without incident for first 10 to 15 miles. Then best left until next day. Changed air filters, spark plugs, got 2nd hand distributor fitted, got new fuel filter all without success. Looks like problem is very likely either related to FUEL PUMP or THROTTLE BODY. Some ideas to fix found at micra.com/au Do a search for " losing power ". Any other ideas out there?

it definately sounds as though the fuel pump is faulty!! Or there may be a problem with the fuel line somewhere... If you change the fuel pump and the problem still persists i would get the fuel line checked out. It could be a leak or a blockage!! Hope this has helped :D

thinking further into your problem it also sounds like a timing problem(unable to hold revs) could be worth a look and easily resolved:)

How do you resolve the timing problem - is this crypton tuning or something?
I havent a clue about cars, except where the petrol goes.....
Also read on nissan.com/au. that fuel pump could be suspect
which do you think is most likely

Hi there, I am doing a bit of research into micras at the moment (thinking of buying one) and I came accros some information which might help all you guys with the above titled problem:
I am quoting word for word here form another site
"A photocell that regulated the fuel injection needed replacing in 1998 just after the warranty ran out. The fault caused the car to lose power from time to time. The dealer couldn't figure out the fault and a trusty local mechanic managed to diagnose the problem."
So, check the photocell regulator and please let me know if that works because if it is a common problem and if there is a common cure we all should know.

throttle body a very common fault on micras. It will cause the car to cut out refuse to run at low revs and just stop when driving.

Hi, My Micra Passion won't start and I don't know why :(
Here is the story.
4 or so days ago the check light flashed on and off a few times, but then never came on again.
This prompted me to check if i had done all the servicing that should have been done.
I hadn't. PCV filter etc in very poor condition and it looked like the fuel filter was the original nissan one. So anyway i thought i would change the fuel filter myself.
I depresurised the system - by removing the fuze and stalling as it says in the manual. Then i pulled the filter from its securing clip, and undid the hose clips either end. I tugged at the hoses, but they wouldn't budge. Then it started to rain, so i put the clips on, put it back in the securing clip and re-inserted the fuse.
Today, a day later. I tried to start the car and it won't work! It tries to start so battery and starter motor are ok. Also tried listening for the fuel pump when the ingition switch is being turned on - think i can hear it. Have been holding the key for a while, in case it just takes longer but no joy.
Does anyone know what i could have done? Do i need to replace the filter once i've depressurised everything once?

Nissan might even undercut the Swift to get market share. Nissan micra With more standard features than some luxury European cars. The Micra name carries a lot of clout.
