I've been trying to solve a problem with my son's P-reg Escort 1400. The brakes are pulling to the left when braking. I've dismantled and cleaned both calipers, cleaned the pads, changed the brake fluid, bled the brakes, and it appears that I've cured it but after a few applications, the front of the car pulls again to the left. I've jacked up the front of the car and had my wife pressed hard on the brake pedal and both wheels lock solid and release when the pedal is released.
I've been told that although the pistons appear immaculate, one might be worn and sticks in the caliper. I've examined them and can find no wear or corrosion.
I'm wondering if it's something to do with the brake master cylinder where the brakes are divided diagonally.
I'm at my wit's end - can you help?
