golf making noise

my golf makes a gurgling/knocking type noise when accelorating. this happens when accelorating from still when driving along. Any idea what this might be? it also seems to be using quite alot of oil............

i have a knocking noise too on the driver side, the noise stop when i push the brake, been to 3 garages so far, couldn't find anything, i have an appointment whith a vw specialist on the 31 of this month regarding the noise, if they find something i will let you know.
