If you want cheaper car insurance i suggest you do what i did. Shop around on EVERY site possible trying a mixture of different named drivers. Then when you are finally happy with your quote (you may need to make some phonecalls) use a cash back site that will give you a further discount, for example i used topcashback.co.uk and then went through to morethan car insurance and got an amazing quote followed by a further reduction due to topcashback. Use my advice people :)

What i would suggest and just did in another post is that you use the price comparison sites. These will give you the floor the you would expect to pay and then you can go phone them up and see if you get a cheaper or more expo quote. Then do this for maybe the top 3 (if similar) and you'll end up with a proper cheap quote.
just don't lie or blag, never works and they alway s find out somehow

I agree with JazzFingers, the way forward for cheap insurance prices is to visit the major comparison sites and a few of the smaller ones.
The 3 quotes rule is sound advice.

The thing that you need to remember is that car insurance comparison sites do not search all car insurance companies. Yes they search most of them but sometimes you might be missing on the one company which is not listed but could have given you the best deal. The bottom line is that you need to know which smaller sites you need to go to, to get the contact details for the right insurance company and quite a few people have found this site useful for new drivers car insurance (http://www.fancyacar.co.uk/car-insurance/young-new-drivers/). So might be worth giving it a look :)
