Which have done a thing on it this month there was only .1 of a second
between the fastest and slowest button to shutter across the range of
compact digitals they tested. Auto focus took up a few tenths but the
average delay was 0.8 of a second.

Now I find the AF and the 'clever bits delay on my Canon EOS 50E an
intolerable delay to capturing 'That Moment' and frequently turn the
options off.
Oh how I wish I hadn't traded in my Olympus 2 series and all it extra
lenses and bits in for it. A mistake.

I would like a digital back for the Canon if they only made one.

Patrick Moore from the Sky at Night is astonishing to meet. He is so
enthusiastic about his subject. His politics are a long way right of
Attila the Hun but his heart is out there in the Universe

I can't stand AF on SLRs.

Paul Pisses-on-floors did an aircraft trip up into the arctic circle,
arranged as an awayday with lots of his fans, and said he was utterly
charming but he also mentioned the slightly-right-of-attila-the-hun
politics too :)

Not being up on Canons, I assume that's an SLR?

There's no lag whatsoever with my Nikon D100. Point, press the shutter -
just like a film SLR.

There was a lag on my old early Coolpix, which made it a PITA for action
pix, and was the main reason why I swiftly upgraded to the D100.

My politics are such that I feel Attila was a ****ing pinko.
