Well, I dunno what you mean by that, really. It's just shooting.

Obviously, as I said elsewhere, the time between frames and the
swiftness of writing to the buffer menu will be affected by shutter
speed and image size, but generally, it just does it.

On my EOS 50E to reduce button to shutter release delay turn off the
auto focus and I'm selective on what mode I use.

Interesting. I've never noticed any lag at all on the D100, like I said,
but I might play around with the AF and mode just to see if it makes any
noticeable difference.
