Ok, I have come across this message board, because I am an active antiscammer. I donīt deal with cars, but I am a, letīs say "semi professional" scambaiter. I take these ****ers for a ride to loontown as a hobby.
I am part of a group that I consider to be amongst the finest and most wicked scambaiters around. We have actually managed to do considerable damage to their business by
(1) Making them waste their money, not ours.
(2) Ridiculing them by baiting them and then publishing the result on websites like www.scamorama.com
(3) Hacking them and exposing and shutting down their accounts, fake bank sites, fake security companies, fake whatevers...
First of all, if they offer to pay you by means of a cashierīs cheque, accept it, say "Thank you, f*cktard!" and keep it! Tell them you handed the cheque over to the local authorities who are now investigating the matter. Donīt worry about the crooks showing off at your doorstep, theyīll curse you and write it off, thatīs it. Frame the cheque and put it up on the wall. And each time you look at it remember, that it cost the pig a lot of cash for the fake cheque and the courier service to send it to you.
Alternatively, if you feel uneasy with that, give them the address of the nearest by anti fraud department of your local police to send the cheque to.
The idea is to hurt them and make their losses exceed their gains, so this sh*t will eventually stop! (even if this will put me out of business! :D )
Second, if you have already lost money, because you fell for their scheme, we can offer help (which doesnīt mean we can recover any losses!), if you are able to supply information on the bubs, such as email addresses and other contact info. We do things other people might consider not quite legal, but in this case, the cause justifies the means...
We might be able to gather enough background information on their network (yes, itīs not a single person, itīs organized crime!) to enable you to have something in hand to forward to the authorities to crack down on those loosers. We know that the authorities are only writing a protocol and then shove it into the file cabinet, so if we are able to provide them with an appropriate amount of information to enable/force them to act, the goal has been reached.
