2 things

1.I was contacted by a guy from the Netherlands - email copied below:

Good day,
I saw your advert on the web and i am interested in your 2003(52) Mazda MX-5 1.8i S-VT
I am from the netherlands and i am willing to offer you the sum of £13,500
If my offer is acceptable kindly mail me back.
Thanks

I tried to email him back and the message bounced back...I have not heard from him since.

2. I have had a call from a guy who is interested in my car and says he has an order for an MX5 from Africe - he buys the cars in the UK and ships them over to Africa. He also said he only deals with cash. I'm not sure he lives in this country - I have a mobile number which works and an email address which he gave willingly.....what do you think?

If they want to pay for your car tell them

1. You only accept money wired into your account or a cheque for the actual amount of the car. THAT IS THE AMOUNT YOU WANT NOT MORE & NOT LESS
2. They sort out the shipping -
3. No funny business ... if things start to get complicated walk away
4. Ask if they are comint to see the car? If not something is fishy
5. I personally would not deal with someone from Africa ... there are more than enough cars over there!

If you do get roped in to them sending you a cheque for more than the car is worth (WHICH YOU DO NOT WANT TO DO!). When it arrives just say the car has been stolen and offer to tear up the cheque.

Out of interest was the car listed here? If yes can you give me the email address

hi
thank you for your advice
the car was listed on this website. I rang him and questioned him on the phone about why he would want a right hand drive. He said it was for Botswana via S Africa and that they do have right hand drive as well as left hand drive over there.

We arrange dto meet and he didn't show! I will email you his email address

Thanks for your help!

The best way is to deal in ready cash..cash in your hand from the buyer think about it if you placed your car in the local paper for sale a j. bloggs.. came round said he liked it would you except a cheque you would think him crazy and be right to think it so..
Same in this case money transfers cashiers cheque,s western union transfers NO GOOD get the money in the hand they would have to come and view or inspect the car bike van ect ect get the cash This is the only safe way...
DONT GET COUGHT OUT BY A SCAMM CASH IN THE HAND..
REGARDS ALL STEVE CARLISLE
PS
If they persist in wanting you to ship when you are selling your car TELL THEM THE CAR IS NOW SOLD AND STICK TO IT THAT STOPS THEM IN THERE TRACKS ..DEAL ONLY WITH INLAND UK BUYERS AND TELL THEM CASH ONLY WHEN THEY COME TO COLLECT & INSPECT YOUR CAR GOOD LUCK..
