For Ka 98 stalling

Dear all

I own a 98 ford KA

The problem is that when accelerating from idle the engine seem as if it tries to stall at first then struggles (for about a second) before the revs increase. I thought i would try asking around before i tried anything.

I will be grateful of anyone giving me a clue as to what this could be.
