Ages back, 88 - 90 I guess, I had a guide book called something like
"The Daily Telegraph BMW guide to French Hotels"
I got irretrievably water damaged during a particularly damp trip
(motorcycle) and although it was out of date price wise it gave a good
indication of the standard etc of hotels.
Don't suppose anyone has a copy ?
