My client took delivery of his new car from a franchised dealer in Holland
on 12th March. But as he was intending to pick it up in January, the dealer
then issued the invoice and applied for the transit documents (temporary
registration) in January.
In March then, unbeknown to me, the dealer did not reissue the invoice, but
handed over the same Jan dated paper and the Jan dated temporary
registration (which incidentally had expired by then). The DVLA seeing these
claims that the car can only get a 53 plate.
My argument is that the invoice is clearly an error, and the dealer can
easily change that (monies have only been exchanged in March). OK, the DVLA
has seen a temp reg, but at an other office, when I registered my own car,
nobody was interested. And that Dutch document clearly states that "This is
not menat to register the car abroad."
So, armed with a new sales invoice, do you think my client has a chance of
getting a new 04 reg reissued. Anz precedences?
