I recently had this email from a would be buyer.
After asking for clarification, I had a reply asking about paying an "overdraft" to a collection agent. From what I have read in this forum, it sems to be a scam, but would like an opinion. I reproduce the emails below.
"Good Day, I have been watching out for this exact item for my client for £1995 ,I figured out your adv as the most suitable.Pls get back to me with the neccesary details as i am ok with the price, and where to direct the cheque or bankers draft for payment ASAP.Thanks."
after informing her that I would require any bankers draft to clear before letting the car go and that i wanted a signature on the V5, i had this reply.
Hello ,
I will be okay with the price and would like to make an
immediate
purchase.A contact address will be needed and the name to be written
on the
check or bankers draft also your contact phone#.Please note that a
p.o.box
wont be prefarable. Also,in case we do havew a deal, I will have my
procurement agent come pick up at your place when ready. The fee for
this
will be included as an overdraft in the cheque or banker's draft made
out
to you, you will have the overdraft sent to the agency so they come
pick up
immediately item is made ready by yourself.
Thanks and look forward to doing good buisness with you.

I received this email which looks very similar from:
Pastor Anthony Cunningham [pas_an1945@yahoo.co.uk]
Good Day,
I have been watching out for this exact vehicle on behalf of my client,I figured out your advert as the most suitable.Pls let me know if £10000 is least price you'll go for and where to direct the Certified cheque for payment ASAP.Thanks.
Best Regards,
P.S.A RECENT PICX AND VEHICLE CONDITION WOULD ALSO BE REQUIRED.
Looks like they are learning to use 'cheque' instead of 'check', I did not respond at all, I hope the 'pastor' won't be offended. Anyone else had this one?

It is always a scam when they talk about their client - come on who gets someone to buy a car for them, its a personal thing.
