importing used pajero from germany

Hi

Dont know if anybody has been through this procedure, but I am about to import a 2001 Mitsubishi Pajero 3.2 did into the uk.It is LHD and will be used in spain most of the time.

I am confused about the Certificate of Conformity and the Mutual Regognition Certificate. I have e-mailed dvla and the vca agencies but no replies yet!

Anybody out there got any ideas??

Please not that i have the exact problem and i have seek advice for it with a french body and the answer was;
The car imported in eu must be to the eu standard,ie; no lead in the body of the car,lightd to eu country standard,and the car should follow the eu country regulation.
please not that if you import a car,you should as the standard of the registering country where the car will be detinated.
Note that all cars After year 2000 construted in eu is to eu standard.
