Dodgy Environmental Control

I have a 1993 Nissan Primera 2.0 SLX. Last week the environmental control did a strange thing. It stopped blowing air on the lowest three settings. However, on full (4) it blows air no problem. :?:

I am as mechanically minded as a bowl of jelly, and have gone no further than checking fuses. That, obviously, did not work. My immediate friends (also jelly heads) can't help either. Any advice?

Its a common fault with these. Loow under the dash in the passenger footwell. Theres a thing that looks like a piece of card with a couple of wires on. Its a resistor for the bottom of the heater. It needs replacing. 10minutes and a cople of screws to undo.
