I have a question relating to the power of my MG. It seems to be lacking between 0 - 3000 RPM, and flooring the accelerator at these revs just makes it splutter, and not gain any speed... Obviously, especially when going up hill.
It seems to accelerate smoother when just holding the accelerator half way down at 0 - 3000 RPM.
Once over ~3000 RPM, I can floor it, and it has power.
I was just wondering if is it perfectly normal for the power band to be 3000+ RPM, and for the car to splutter and struggle under this RPM ?
At what RPMs do people normally change up a gear ? depending on incline, and at 2000RPM is it normal for the MGB GT to have nothing ?
Many thanks
Sam
