My Audi A6 has developed a gear box problem whereby a short while after starting out the car cannot decide what gear it should be in and goes to neutral. The only way of curing this is to knock the gear stick over t o manual wait a few seconds and knock it back to auto. By doing this the gear view on the dash goes from DNRP to 123456 and continually flashes. The car then drives OK but does not pull away from stop as quickly. The car has only done 52000 miles and is 4.5 years old.
Has anyone else experioenced this problem or know what the answer might be.
