The Ramshackle events are great - I've done a couple now...

I'm not sure if anyone else on here has come across the following couple of events but I just found them via charity rallies:

They are both run by a UK-based charity which adds an interesting angle to it?!

Can anyone offer any information on them?

A friend of mine too a car to the Scally Rally (http://www.scallyrally.co.uk/) a couple of months back and had a great time. He even swapped his normal car for a "space shuttle" (well, ageing Mondeo dressed to look like one! :D).

I'm planning on going along to next years, so would recommend anyone to give it a go. Rallying on a budget has to be credit crunch proof! :)

I have done a Scally and a Ramshackle and they have both been good. Ramshackle probably had the edge on the organisation and the atmosphere. Craziest week of my life. Will be doing another Ramshackle in 2009.

The sucata split one is just a rip off of the Ramshackle route.

I really like the idea of this. What happens when the car buggers up tho? I know it's only 100squid but I assume you'd be advised to bring along a lot extra cash to fix the car when it enevitably breaks down
