I would like to inform you that i am satisfied with the pictures and believe in good faith that the car is in good condition like you explained to me,payment has been mailed to you should get the draft before the weekend runs over,also i have made arrangement for the pick-up and shippment,i would like you to prepare the log-book and the dvla papers for me so that once the payment has cleared at your bank then i can have the car shipped from your residence to me directly.
I have concluded arrangement with a shipping company over here in Zurich to handle the shippment for me they have an agent there in the u.k who can carry out all the paperwork for me so please await my draft and also inform all other prospective clients that the car has been sold.
I am a used car dealer with my own private garage and showroom here in Zurich, and have a client over there in the U.k who owes me money from business purchases with my showroom which i would like to use to purchase this car.The only constraint is that sum owed me is more than price of your car.Please,could you deduct price of car from sum ?and send the difference to my shipping agent in the U.K who will be on standby to come and do the pick up on my behalf.
The total amount on the draft would be £7,000.00,i would like you to send me a confirmation mail upon receipt of payment so that i can call you up and we can both fix a date for pick-up and all documentations when the draft clears at your bank.

I have had the same thing happen to me this last week. I placed an advert on a website for a car for sale and had the following emails:
When I received the "Bankers Draft" I immediately telephoned my bank and asked for a fraud check put on the check, and also phoned Western Union Bank who asked what it was for told them, and they put me through to their fraud department, who were very helpful, and who told me the scam.

The scammer used the same "freight company as before" he used a name of "Mr james j seed"

emails below:

I am interested in buying/acquiring your Vauxhall Corsa valued at £7,995.00 , if the car is still available get back to me with the necessary details. I will be needing:
* pictures of cars to verify autenticity of advert.(engine and interior)
* your full name and home address together with
* your reconfirmed phone number (both home and mobile)
* number(s) of previous owner.
* fax number (if possible).
My personal details are also listed below,please feel free to contact
me if the car is still available for sale so that we can commence
negotiations as soon as possible.

How are you doing today?I can make payment in two ways which will be convinent for both of us.

1)I make payment with a bankers draft in Sterling(which should clear in 24 hours if you put it on a fast clearance scheme) and when the draft clears at your bank the shipping agent comes over to your residence to do the pick-up and all other documentation for the car.

2)I can also make payment by direct transfer into your account if you have a Barclays account .

Email me soonest so that i can know for sure where i stand.

I thought this was suspect, as some one owes him money!!!!

My bank does not do express clearance, but will be available by Friday Afternoon.

I will make contact with the Shipping agent to arrange pick up, and pay the balance to the shipping company. I take it this is by cheque?

Also is your name going on the new log book or your garaqe, please let me know what I need to inform the DVLA/

I telephoned the above, and he was put out that I had spoke to him, his English was very broken.

This is when it goes cold, I am still waiting on the bank to verify the cheque,

It was a Bankers Draft drawn on the Bank of Ireland at the Dublin Branch but posted in West London through Mount Pleasant Mail centre on Sunday 12th February 06


What a Scam, luckily I was tipped off by Western Union Bank, by asking me if the transfer was for the sale of a car, they now ask certain security questions, to try to avoid these scammers.

PS My family are fine. I have three sisters and one brother. I will start with my brother, Aleksey - or Alexis, as non-Russians sometimes spell his name. Maria seems like she is constantly slipping and falling somewhere. She is my tennis partner and we play right in our rooms, whacking balls against the walls and knocking stuff about. Now that is great fun! Maria has boyfriends, mama and papa tease her about her crushes. We hear Aunt Victoria in England wants Maria to marry her son, Louis Mountbatten. They are both too young for this kind of talk. Maria thinks cousin Louis is very handsome.
