16 yr old needs help with midget

i am 16 and have just purchased a mg midget mk4 and hope to use it when i turn 17.

however i have heard that they have a problem with the oil system that can cause engine problems.

if you can give me any infomation as to this problem or any thing else about the midget plese respond.

Re. Midget engine oil probs. As an oldie I don't recall any on the BMC "A" Series eng. You can, however, fit it with a high output oilpump, which were mainly used for racing/rallying etc; (still available from MG shops etc.) Later Midgets were fitted with the Spitfire (Triumph) eng. Hope this helps).

As a fellow oldie who served his apprenticeship and several years after working in a BMC garage ,I cannot recall any oil problems with this car .
