iv just got back from failing my MOT and they couldn't do the emissions test as my idle speed is too high i have no idea why!has anyone had the same problem and wat was it or does anyone hav any ideas?

Surely that would just be a case of loosening the throttle cable slightly..... as to how sorry not sure

Did you ever sort this problem? I have exactly the same problem now, cannot do MoT as idle speed too fast. Tks

Hi, my 5 campus has just delevoled the same problem yet the idle adjust is slack enough- did you find a solution ?

There should be a valve that controls oil/petrol mix in carburetor (under air filter) if I remember rightly. I had same problem on my first car - a 1984 Vauxhall Cavalier.
