Comprehensive coverage does what it says, providing calm no matter your troubles. Whether or not you are at fault, your car is protected against damage, fire, and theft. So your attention can be focused on more pressing matters. Peace of mind costs a bit more upfront, but can save you a bundle on the long road. Most companies require this level of coverage if your car is worth more than a set limit.Third party fire and theft gives you security if your car is stolen or is damaged by fire, but doesn't protect your car if you cause an accident.

There's a great article over at money saving expert showing how to get 120 quotes from using comparison sites, it says you can get quotes from 100% of the market using it - i thought it was a really useful read

The comparison sites are very good but if you have accidents and convictions they dont seem to be so good, I found by ringing around and speaking to a broker you get a better deal.
Just done mine with Right Choice Insurance Brokers (0845 555 0666), got a great deal and also feel more comfortable having spoken to them rather than pressed a few buttons.

Could you possibly post some of those sites because searching car insurance quotes online (http://www.csun.edu/~cdg15757/money-finance-insurance/car-insurance-quotes-online.html) was a pretty tough business for me and I can't say that I got some information out of it. So just post one or two sites where I can take look. Thank you very much in advance.

Just introducing myself, I'm Phil and I work for a very well known UK Insurance broker. We dont use call centres and offer old fashioned qualtiy, service & advise to all our clients on Motor, Home and Commercial insurance. We have acess to the whole market and have a lot of great discount schemes with 100's of insurance companies
See my Sig.

This year I found that I saved quite a bit of money by phoning up a broker rather than just looking at what they offered online. In fact, the prices offered by the broker online were initially quite high but the deal they offered me on the phone was the best I came across.
Hope this helps :)
