Central Locking Problem

I have a polo and a golf both R reg. Both are suffering the same problem. Since the battery was connected from each, the central locking doesn't work. The pumps work with a voltage applied to them. The polo is remote central locking from the alarm/locking fob and the golf is central locking from the key.

Is there a sequence involved in resetting the central locking?:confused:

you have to reprogram it using the key, usualy you have to press the butons on your key in a sequence to do it.
if you go to the main dealer they can do it for you and it should only take a few minutes so they shouldnt charge you for it, and if they do it wont cost alot.
