Hi,
I have a maroon Ford Escort Encore 1.4 Mk6 N Reg '96 with under 70,000 on the clock.
Now, this car has quite a bit of work needed doing to it, it has several dents (one medium sized above the left rear wheel, one above the door handle from somone pushing their thumb too hard into it, one small one on the edge of the bonnet, and a medium sized one in the centre front of the bonnet) from the previous owner, it also has rust growing on the driver door (nothing major, but it will get worse) not only all this, but the back window wiper is broken, theres a slight fault with the inside electrics, the CD player is loose from its bracket, the front speakers need replasing and it needs an oil change.
I have made a rough estimation that to get all of these repaired it would cost around £400 - £500 (if i buy a new drivers door and bonnet which is badly dented it will cost about another £120 - £200)
So it got me thinking, is it worth me keeping this car and getting it sorted out, or is it worth me going onto ebay and buying a new second hand car for upto £1000?
And if it's worth me getting a new car, what sort of car should i look for in the £600 - £1000 price range?
