a re post of what I said to someone else a few days ago.....
I was given a 20 year old van with a lot of damp. I had to strip off about
1/3 of the interior ply (about 2mm) which had turned to sponge. then I had
to replace one of the corner uprights, & re skin the inside which I did with
3mm ply cut to shape with a jigsaw. I bolted through from the outer metal
skin into the new upright just to be sure. Then I did all the exterior
seams with silicone sealant from B & Q. After a winter outdoors its bone
dry, and is now gathering algae as I've since got a bigger van. If anyone
wants a 81 lunar 4 berth with an awning for a fair donation (the awning cost
me £200) it's currently about 15 miles south of belfast!!!
