He probably does understand that, as he also posted a link to a currency
converter.
And who's to blame him? Everybody knows we're so desperate for car
wrecks at this end of the globe, it's a golden idea to import them from
the other end.
Shrewd business, that...

TBH, I'm glad he does post this **** about cars on the other side of the
****ing world. I've always wanted a nice, clean Mk1 Capri, preferably with a
V8 in, and there's loads of 'em in NZ. Ok, so they cost about £3500 for a

UK, exactly. As far as can be ascertained, Super Snipes and Crestas were
not made in Tanzania or Paraguay, but in the UK. Excellent cars; people
like them and buy them. Our stats show UK visitors. Life here is
comparatively relaxed, so we don't blow fuses like what'sisname up there
- sad chap needs a lifestyle adjustment. Plus cars here don't rust away
in a week, because we have sunshine and warmth and don't put
rust-promoting crap on the roads. So UK cars in NZ are better than UK
cars in the UK. If you don't like UK cars, go to another newsgroup.

This man gets a beer if he shows up here, and a tour of restoration
shops and museums. Oh, also, numbers of UK cars are restored in NZ
because UK restorers rip customers off and do shoddy work that has to be
redone by competent honest experts, not in the UK.

What I find hard to swallow is your constant spamming of this group with
your car adverts.
If you want to post this ****, uk.adverts.cars is over there
----------->
FWIW, it's technically a group for classic cars IN THE UK, not UK
PRODUCED CARS.
Anyway, anyone who would even consider paying the transport and import
costs for bringing in one of your cars from NZ needs their head read.

Why?
You'd end up paying more than concourse price for it once all the costs
have been taken into account.

I seriously doubt that. For example, on his site there's a rather well built
Capri Perana replica.
http://classiccarfair.com/1973fordcapri302.htm
which, at $7000 NZD works out at 2,481.92 GBP in real money
On top of that there's air fare, so that's going to be £650 return, so we're
on £3131.92 so far, but it'd be easy getting a holiday for a week or so out
there for less, and the cost of shoving it in a crate and sending it back to
the UK, which would be around £900. So, we're on £4000ish. Import tax will
be around £400, and UK registering it IIRC is approx £90.
So, £4500 for a holiday, and a rust free classic. Ok, it's cost £2k to get
it to the UK, but you won't get a rust free Mk1 Capri 3.0 for under £3.5k,
never mind a Perana replica. Last one I saw in the UK went for a lot more
than that..

OK, for a _small minority_ of _rare models_ it _might_ be worth doing.
Most of the stuff he posts is just old tat, though.

Add a grand for shipping and that Vauxhall would only cost £2,500 -

Likely NZ doesn't have a classic car newsgroup. I read and post to a US
BMW one for the same reason.
The post in question was only 1502 bytes - hardly anything to get wound up

I've not looked into the charter for this group, but surely his posts
amount to constant spamming of the group?
I may be getting worked up about nothing, but if you allow one spamming
cunt to do this on a regular basis, before long the group will end up
being more spam than proper posts, IYSWIM.
If he wants to constantly spam a UK group with cars that are on the
other side of the planet, then uk.adverts.cars would be a more
appropriate place.
