Need Help!!

I have a 1994 grand Am 3.1 V6,I put a new alternator on it,But it still 9-10 amps on gauge is there something esle that needs change.

try checking the out put at the battery with a multimeter, you should get a reading of 13-14.
It may be your gauge that is faulty.
