Not going to tempt fate here, but so far..... <touch wood>. The other issue
was insurance (100 quid/year dearer), and fuel (worse economy than a 1.8),
as well as my current points on my licence - something like a 155 would be
just too tempting to resist putting me foot down :)

Wouldn't mind one of those, just a case of finding one!

You'd be very surprised at the real world economy of a 155 8v.

35mpg is an everyday figure, a tank of very manic driving produced just
over 28mpg and my wife regularly sees 40-45mpg out of it! Not bad for a
150bhp 'sports saloon'.

I reckon you'd get the insurance closer than that with a bit of shopping
around.

Anyway, isn't it _worth_ £100 / year to have an Alfa rather than a Fiat
sat on your drive ;-)

That is good, get around 30-35 on my Fiat, although this could be down to
sitting in stationary traffic a lot :(

I tried. Settled with Liverpool Victoria in the end as they were the
cheapest, everyone else used 6 points as an excuse to milk me for all they
could.

Perhaps, but this Bravo does look smart, being black and all, and it is so
funny when the sad little boy racers in their Saxos have a go :)

Moving house soon so will have more space - might get me a cheap 155 and
have a play....
