Need help with impossible situation

Please please can anyone give me some advice about my insurance problem? I purchased a Mercedes Benz Vito 9 seater minibus in Belgium along with one month insurance (green card) and temporay import plates to drive it back to the UK, as I will only be in the UK for a few weeks I won't be registering it here. I am driving over to Bulgaria to live in the first week of Feb and as my existing Belgium insurance expired at the End of Dec I now need insurance to drive it over to Bulgaria where I plan to register it. I have tried in vain and I mean in vain to get insurance just to cover me to drive it over to Bulgaria but it is impossible, firstly because the insurance would have to be on the chassis number as I have temporary plates and secondly because the minibus is not UK registered. The only option that I can think of is to go over to Belgium (not in the minibus cus I won't be insured!) to take out insurance, come back and then to drive over to Bulgaria as planned, this just seems a very expensive way to get the insurance I need.

Please can anyone help with an easier and cheaper way of sorting this mess out?
