So you paid £250 deposit for a car you didn't ask the mileage on ?
You saw other cars there that which you thought were "clocked" but still put
a deposit on it ?
How can it have UK history for a Jap import ? did this not ring a bell.
With Jap imports they should have the auction sheet showing the grade of the
vehicle have you asked them for this ?
To a certain extent you can't blame the dealer if you didn't ask the
questions, in fact many dealers would have taken more than £250 as a
deposit. I would consider your self lucky as to only loosing £250.

Just got fleeced on this...
Paid £250 to a certain car dealer. Then realised I forgot to ask them
about the mileage. It turned out to be double the average for the type
of vehicle. They said theirs is genuine, with a "full UK service
history" (meaning they have no idea what the service history was
during the 8 years it was in Japan - same as almost every other Jap
car) and that other cars I saw were clocked....
Now they are deducting from the £250 the cost of getting it ready...
mot, km -> miles conversion, foglamp, you name it. Despite telling me
initially they only had to move other cars to get it on the road.
