Thread: Leather Seat Covers for a Spider

  1. #1 Default Leather Seat Covers for a Spider

    Hi, all....

I recently had an episode where the logical part of my brain was
apparently starved for oxygen, and bought an '85 Spider Veloce. The
good news is, the previous owner had recently overhauled the engine,
replaced the top, installed Eibach springs, Koni shocks, Exip wheels,
Michelin tires and a host of other items.

The bad news is that the leather seats are in pretty poor shape -
particularly the drivers side, which has several large rips in the
    material.

The online research I've done only turned up a few suppliers of
reupholstery kits for the Spider... International Auto Parts, and
leatherseats.com. The cost (in US$) would be between $500 and 750 for
    the kit...

Does anyone have any words of wisdom about either of these options -
or perhaps there's a better option out there somewhere (like a cottage
shop lovingly turning out top grade hide covers in Milan for $200 a
    set). ;-)

The other part I'd like to find is an aftermarket "bolt-on" front air
dam (the on on my car is now repaired, but has seen more than its
    share of abuse).

    Perfectly sensible

Well, in the UK there are plenty of specialists that will re-upholster stuff
from scratch. Probably worth checking on your side of the big damp.
