Scammer warning

If placing an advert please beware of overseas enquiries: These will try to get you to accept a cheque (check) for more than the car is worth! The cheque will bounce - even if your bank says it has cleared IT WILL BOUNCE & then you will owe the bank money.

Beware of fake adverts - Romanian scammers placing fake low priced vehicles for sale. These will scammers will ask you to send a deposit ( to secure their non-existent vehicle) via western union. Never send money for something you have not seen. Do not believe any story that the car is in one country and they are in another.

Basic rules - will save any upset

  • Do not sell your car to anyone who does not come to see it (remember how long you took to buy it?)
  • Do not accept overpayment for your car (or anything else) - why would a stranger trust you with several ££££ more than the car?
  • Beware of someone trying to get you to contact them straight away via email - correspond through our mailbox to confirm they are genuine
  • Do not get involved in money transfers - if it seems complicated, it is probably a scam
  • Ignore any requests to ship the car overseas (remember they have cars overseas)
