What things have gone wrong with the car? Within 1 month of aquiring this vehicle I experienced loss of power during accelleration - the engine light would come on - at all times the fault showed as Boost Pressure error. Ssanyong replaced every fuel and oil filter, every sensor on the vehicle, the turbo charger, the common rail diesel injectors and the air mass meter. Eventually after 18 months, the Ssanyong head diesel mechanic in South Africa, Mr DeWet Gates, was flown to Cape Town and determined that the two vacuum actuators on (or leading to) the turbo charger were at fault. He replaced these parts and reset the onboard computer measuring fuel, air etc. This fixed the problem and the vehicle is now a dream to drive.
General comments: My advice to any Rexton or Ssanyong ownwer - If you have a similar problem, throw your toys out of your cot and scream at the top of your lungs that you want DeWet Gates to come and sort out your problem. 18 months is a long time to drive with a defunct vehicle that local yokels cannot fix
